Accidentally Clicking Links when Composing Leads to Loss of Content
I spent HOURS (not exaggerating) today composing a fully-comprehensive How-To Post for new users.
2 hours later, I'm minutes away from posting and accidentally click a #hashtag in my Post. I was redirected to the hashtag and when I clicked back, all my content was lost. If there is a way to kill those links while composing, only show a preview of the hashtag/profile on which you clicked, or saved Post progress that would be a game changer.
This is not the first time this has happened to me, but my planned Post today was by far the longest I'd…

Automated Image Resizing (frictionless photography support)
Post doesn’t need hi-res image support as much as it needs support for client-side, pre-upload image compression/resizing.
Most photographers images are well over 20MB (even as JPGs). Having to resize them in a different app before uploading them here is a lot of unnecessary friction.

Ability to paste images from clipboard
Currently, even with the addition of the toolbar, we have to navigate via dialog box to attach images to post. The ability to paste images into a post from the clipboard would make sharing images a lot easier.

Ability to pin a Comment (esp handy for including corrections since we can't yet edit posts)
Would be great if we could pin a Comment or Comments for our own Posts. Since we can't yet edit our main Posts, this would be a workaround if we wanted to post a correction or sources or additional info.

Select multiple photos at a time to add to a post.
The ability to select multiple photos to add simultaneously.
Currently, I can only add one photo at a time.
Also, I must keep scrolling down my album to find my spot again every time I want to add another photo to the post.

Add a character count to composition
A visual indication of the truncation (ellipses) location during composition, along with or in addition to, a character account would greatly assist in intentional formatting of posts.

Adding a Title is Broken/Not Predictable
I like the idea of a title, but it is not clear how to add one. It pops up and disappears helter-skelter.
18 votesThank you for your feedback. We are continuing to look for ways to improve this feature. For now, in order to have the Title feature appear, users need to use a minimum of 140 characters in a given post.

Markdown support for heading tags
This ask is to restore support of heading tags in composer.
For a11y purposes and to support cleanly structured long form posts.
While it may require limiting to support for h3-h6 tags to avoid competing with other elements in the global hierarchy, having heading support in posts would enable for elegant formatting of longer Post articles.

Choosing images in posts with links.
I'd like to be able to choose the image that appears in a post that contains a link. Random images automatically snatched from the linked page are not always relevant and may contain copyrighted content that is only fair use in its context on the page being cited. This is a common option on other social media.
15 votesThank you for providing feedback. We are currently looking into ways to improve our link support.

Edit
Could you please add an edit function to posts. Perfectionists cringe seeing their errors and not being able to fix.

Additional Video Options
I'd love to be able to embed or upload original videos I've created directly into a Post rather than having to link to YouTube, Vimeo, or another hosting site. I like the idea of curating video content specifically designed for Post.
